About Ravi Kale

Maj Gen Ravi Kale is an alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune from where I graduated in the year 1978. I did MS (Surgery) in 1987 and thereafter MCh in Paediatric Surgery from AIIMS in the year 1994. I have had an illustrious career with wide ranging experience in both administration and in own specialty during a career of 37 yrs in the Armed Forces. I have been Senior Advisor (Surg & Paed Surg) at Army Hospital (R&R) and CH (CC) Lucknow. Before assuming the appointment of Senior Consultant and Technical Head (Surgery and Allied Specialties) for the Armed Forces Hospitals, which I held since June 2013, I was at the helm of affairs at Armed Forces Medical Stores Depot (AFMSD), Lucknow. I took over the Command of AFMSD, Lucknow after having served as Brig In charge Administration & Commander Troops at CH (CC). I conducted a two day CME on Pharmacovigilance in the year 2010.Despite being busy while discharging my administrative responsibilities; I have always kept abreast with the latest clinical developments in the field of Paediatric Surgery. I have been awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card while posted at 92 BH (Srinagar) in the yr this was awarded for my selfless dedication and devotion to profession and clinical acumen in the care of the casualties in the Kargill conflict (Operation Vijay). I was awarded General Officer Commanding in Chief (Central Command) Commendation during Operation Parakaram (following Dec 13 2001 Parliament Attack). This was awarded for having proved my mettle both as a clinician and a capable administrator. I have also been awarded Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Commendation card (Eastern Naval Command) in 2007. I am an advisor with the UPSC, and am an examiner for DNB. I am also an appraiser of MCI. I have published various works and articles in various National and International Journals of repute.
