ABOUT RAVEN CHISM CHANDLER
I’m a Memphis native, attorney, wife, and proud mom of three. I earned my law degree and passed the bar while raising small children, an experience that deeply shaped both my perspective and my practice. Balancing motherhood with a demanding legal career has taught me to lead with purpose, stay grounded in faith, and find joy even in the busiest seasons. With nearly a decade of legal experience and four years as a licensed attorney, I currently serve as Assistant County Attorney and General Counsel for the Shelby County Health Department. In this role, I advise department leadership on public health law, governmental procedures, and both regulatory and operational compliance. I ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws, and represent the department in legal matters, administrative hearings, and interagency collaborations, all in support of the department’s mission to protect community health. In addition to my government work, I founded Chism-Chandler Legal Consulting, a boutique legal practice providing strategic guidance on business formation, contract drafting, trademark protection, and regulatory compliance. I’m passionate about helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and mission-driven organizations move forward with clarity and legal confidence. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and connecting with peers in the legal community. I serve on the Memphis Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee and sit on the Executive Board of the MBA’s Young Lawyers Division. Health and wellness are important parts of my life. You’ll often find me in the gym or dancing through a Zumba class to reset and recharge. I strive to live fully through faith, family, and service. Whether I’m offering legal guidance or cheering on my kids from the sidelines, I show up with purpose, heart, and a commitment to making a difference. Let’s connect—whether to collaborate, share insights, or simply build community.
