But as the saying goes, “Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society.” So take a little pride in being part of that. I actually find tax pretty fascinating. I like reading research papers on it and applying those ideas to real business situations.I run an accounting firm called Books & Counts, where we make numbers make sense. We help small mom-and-pop businesses stay on top of their accounting, taxes, and compliance without the stress. Most of our work happens on cloud platforms like QuickBooks, Xero, and Zoho Books—so everything’s smooth, smart, and right at your fingertips.
