It provides more environmental friendly solutions than traditional industrial agriculture e.g. of this is engineering of plant to express a pesticide thereby eliminating the need for external application of pesticides e.g. Bt corn3.White Biotechnology -Also known as industrial biotechnology e.g. Designing of an organism to produce useful chemicals using enzymes as industrial catalysts to either produce valuable chemicals or to destroy hazardous/polluting chemicals 4.Blue Biotechnology -Marine and aquatic applications of biotechnology. Use is relatively rare.
