About Rashed Eisa
I’m Rashed Eisa, a highly motivated aerospace engineering student at the University of California, Irvine, with a deep passion for advancing aerospace innovation through rigorous engineering and hands-on application. My academic and professional experiences have given me a great foundation in aerodynamics, structural design, modeling and simulation, and spacecraft thermal systems. Over the past several years, I’ve led and contributed to complex multidisciplinary projects—from optimizing CubeSat thermal behavior in low-Earth orbit to simulating aerodynamic profiles for competition aircraft. I gained direct experience using MATLAB, Thermal Desktop, SINDA, and XFLR5 for simulation and analysis, and I’ve collaborated across mechanical, thermal, and avionics teams to ensure integrated system performance. As Chief Mechanical Engineer of UCI’s Spacecraft Thermal Management Systems team, I guided multiple subteams to develop and test cutting-edge cooling methods for high-heat-flux space environments. My work with SAIC further strengthened my technical skill set, where I supported orbital modeling and conjunction analysis for U.S. Space Force missions and helped improve NASA’s CARA tool through enhanced probability calculations. I thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments where real-world impact is the goal. Whether working alongside engineers on launch systems or leading mission concept development through NASA L’SPACE, I bring a problem-solving mindset, systems thinking, and a readiness to take ownership of critical tasks. I’m eager to continue growing within the aerospace sector, especially in dynamic roles that merge modeling, flight dynamics, and structural systems in order to contribute meaningfully to the future of space exploration and launch vehicle development.

As Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Spacecraft Thermal Management Systems (STMS) project, I supervised and assisted the mechanical leads and team members while leading both the Space and High Heat Flux subteams. I guided the Space Subteam in building 2U satellite models, conducting orbital simulations to analyze and optimize thermal performance, and designing CubeSAT models using AutoCAD and Thermal Desktop. These simulations helped monitor temperature changes during orbit, and I utilized a Variable Emissivity Device (VED) to dynamically control the satellite’s temperature. Additionally, I led the High Heat Flux Subteam, conducting research on various cooling methods, including cold plates, liquid nitrogen, impinging jets, vortex tubes, and heat pipes. I performed vacuum system tests to enhance heat transfer by adjusting impingement angles to improve convection and wrote detailed procedures for each method.
