   As a member of the Property Tax Division’s Management team, I provide strategic direction and performance leadership to a team of ten members who administer six programs that make up the Exemption and Deferral Program. Business areas within this position’s scope include- Nonprofit Exemption Processing- Tribal Exemption Processing- Senior Citizen Exemption Administration- Deferral Programs Management- Administration of Assistance for Widows/Widowers of Disabled Veterans, and- Property Tax Resource Center for County TreasurersStaff that administers these tax exemptions and deferrals evaluates applicant eligibility for each, and provides guidance and training to other government entities who administer the same and similar programs. In this position, I use political acuity to navigate a complex framework in meeting organizational objectives and in assuring optimum use of resources. This position enhances the effectiveness of employees through the development of clear, concise, and achievable expectations and monitoring of performance. Duties and Responsibilities• Foster employee engagement in the development of culture and operational plans to accomplish organizational objectives Assess the program’s progress toward goals and establish supporting performance expectations for staff• Use communication skills to establish credibility, trust and influence with internal and external stakeholders to maintain productive partnerships• Monitor operational and individual employee performance to ensure steady progress toward objectives• Coach and mentor staff and stakeholders in the resolution of issues, and in achieving desired outcomes• Develop, review, and revise programs’ policies and procedures to facilitate understanding and compliance with technical and statutory requirements
