Raquel is currently working as a Senior Manager at BDO USA, as part of the Forensic Accounting & Investigations practice.(\"Legal, Monitorships & Investigations\" group). She has been working mostly in a monitorship as a member of the team assisting the Special Compliance Coordinator (“SCC”) appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to monitor, assess and report on U.S. export control compliance of a foreign player of the IT/telecom sector. Prior to that, Raquel worked as a Manager in the Forensic Services practice at PwC Brazil (São Paulo) until August, 2018. She has more than 14 years of work experience in assurance and advisory services to Brazilian and foreign companies, having worked for 4 years in the external auditing practice (20••••13), mostly focused on insurance companies. Raquel has later joined PwC’s Forensic practice, in 2013. She had the opportunity to lead a variety of assignments over diverse national and multinational companies across several industries - i.e. health, oil & gas and energy. Raquel has worked in a number of anti-bribery & anti-corruption (“ABC”) due diligence engagements and third-party audits. Her professional experience also embraces shadowing investigations in widely-known corruption cases in Brazil and global intelligence researches, using public and private sources to assess reputational risks (e.g. KYC programs). She took part on several compliance-related training initiatives, as well as referred engagements with PwC US and has also worked on compliance programs\' assessments focused on the requirements of ABC regulations – such as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act and the Brazilian Clean Company Act. Raquel is a CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) and a chartered accountant in Brazil, certified by the Conselho Regional de Contabilidade do Estado de São Paulo – CRC SP (CPA \"equivalent\"). Moreover, Raquel is a U.S. Permanent Resident, requiring no sponsorship to work in the country. She is also a dual passport holder - Brazil and Italy, allowing her to live and work permanently in any country member of the Mercosur and European Union. In addition, she lived in Australia in 2008. Raquel is a Portuguese native-speaker, has advanced English, and an advanced level in Spanish.
