As the Regional Director of Special Education at Aspire Public Schools, I have led the supervision and integration of diverse service providers and teams across 16 schools in the Central Valley. I developed and implemented a comprehensive Student Services Program Review to identify region-wide needs and set targeted goals for the integration of general and special education. I designed and facilitated strategic planning and professional development initiatives, including a region-wide step back and monthly community practice meetings. Through innovative staffing solutions, I significantly increased full-time, in-person related services while reducing reliance on contracted services. I also managed contracts, approved budgets, transitioned organizational structures, and collaborated with the MTSS Program Manager to enhance training and service models. My participation in legal mediation, settlement agreements, and various leadership teams has further strengthened the region’s special education and student support services.
