I currently lead engineering for Anthropic\'s first party applications.I joined Airbnb as the 7th engineer, became the first engineering manager, and helped scale our business, team, and culture to over employees.(On my last day, CEO Brian Chesky remarked \"If I could hire anyone today it would be five more Raphs.\") I built a world-class technical team as the VP of Engineering at Lob (high-growth B2B API startup), then co-founded U.S. Digital Response, a nonprofit that has worked with government teams in 37 states and territories to fight COVID-19 affect over 14 million lives. We presented to the Biden Transition Team, then the Administration; my research was cited in new child care regulation in March 2024 that simplified enrollment for families in need. I\'m also an angel investor, startup advisor, Stanford GSB grad, and the host of the Building AI Products podcast.
