About Raphael Norwitz

I’m a systems software engineer passionate about fundamentally understanding and pushing the limits of computing and contributing to the open source communities which power global critical infrastructure.I currently work at NVIDIA on a new team dedicated to Linux kernel improvements for at-scale deep learning systems. I joined NVIDIA via the Enfabrica deal in September 2025. At Enfabrica I was on the Linux kernel team for 18 months, focusing primarily on our device drivers. In particular I was focused on our hardware-accelerated RoCE state machine implementation. Before Enfabrica, I spent 5 years at Nutanix working on the Acropolis Hypervisor. Among other things, I co-developed Nutanix iSER, an RDMA-accelerated block storage datapath offering massive bandwidth improvements for the company’s core product.I still maintain a few device types in QEMU from my time at Nutanix. I studied at Columbia University (BA and MS) and have a few other miscellaneous academic publications and internships across different fields.
