ABOUT RAPHAEL JAKUBOVIC

Raphael Jakubovic is currently a staff Medical Physicist at Genesicare in South Florida. He previously worked as a medical physicist at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and served as a staff Physicist/ Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) at Niagara Health/Walker Family Cancer Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Raphael completed his CAMPEP accredited Therapeutic Medical Physics residency training at Northwell Health in Long Island, New York and gained extensive clinical experience in a variety of radiotherapy settings including conventional and SBRT LINAC radiotherapy, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery and Brachytherapy. Prior to his clinical training, Raphael attended Ryerson University from 20••••17, completing a Bachelors of Science in Medical Physics (20••••11), a Master\'s of Science in Biomedical Physics (20••••13) and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biomedical Physics (20••••17). His Master\'s work focused on the prediction of metastatic brain tumor outcome based on tumor perfusion and permeability using magnetic resonance imaging MRI and characterization of the early perfusion and permeability response to high doses of radiation. Raphael doctorate work focused on the integration of optical imaging into a radiotherapy setting. Raphael has an extensive publication record comprising 9 first author and 24 total peer reviewed publications including a landmark study published in Nature Scientific Reports entitled, “High speed, high density intraoperative 3D optical topographical imaging with efficient registration for craniospinal surgical navigation.
