ABOUT RANNIE TEODORO

I recently joined Faire as Senior Director of Product Design, where I’ll be helping brands launch, grow, and succeed in their wholesale businesses. Previously, I led product design teams at Coupang, Korea\'s #1 eCommerce marketplace. There I oversaw UX vision and strategy for core shopping experiences. I also lead Coupang\'s Design Systems and Brand teams to create a unified collection of reusable functional and visual components that scale the company\'s range of international products, platform, and growth. With over 15 years of experience in UX, I have a proven track record in building \"zero to one\" products, driving ecosystem-level product strategy, and optimizing international and market-driven mobile and device-related experiences.Before joining Coupang, I led the design org at Thumbtack (Product Design, Experience Research, Market Research, Content Strategy, and Category Operations teams). I was responsible for design vision and execution excellence in both B2B and B2C domains, and contributed to the company\'s path to profitability and IPO. I was also one of the original Facebook UX research leads for search product and internationalization (Trending News, Search Autocomplete, Results Pages, and Facebook Lite for emerging markets).I hold a Ph.D. in Communication from Rutgers University, with a concentration in health and mediated communication. My dissertation focused on triggers to action and uncertainty reduction strategies in health information seeking. I have conducted work in partnership with Cornell Tech, the Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence, and the Partnership for Drug-Free New Jersey. My work has been published in outlets such as the Information, Communication & Society journal, the ACM Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing (CSCW), and the International Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM).
