ABOUT RANJIT KHUTAN

Experienced public health academic, manager and researcher drawing on experience in the NHS, academia and consultancy roles in both the public and private sector. My areas of expertise include public health promotion, health needs assessment, leadership and change management, social media & marketing techniques in health, arts & health, e-learning, and qualitative research methods. These are closely aligned to my research interests which span the human life-course whilst focusing on specific populations, settings and activities; and aim to analyse, explain and reframe discourse and evidence in public health. Areas of interest include prisoner public health and reducing recidivism through improvements to their health and wellbeing, the use and effectiveness of the arts in public health and how these activities can be evaluated, leadership in health & social care, social prescribing and public health promotion, and public health issues within South Asian communities and LGBT communities. I am also an award winning playwright, screenwriter and author and have an interest in the use and evaluation of arts in health. I am interested in connecting with people with similar interests and for research or consultancy opportunities.
