About Ranjit T Hirode

As a Technologist-Distillation & Light Ends at Shell, I apply my 18+years of chemical engineering experience (with 10 years of Distillation Domain Experience) with my strong focus on distillation, to design, optimize and troubleshoot distillation processes and equipment for various upstream and downstream refinery, petrochemical, and chemical projects. I have a passion for learning and innovation, and I leverage my distillation theory, anatomy, and visualization skills to provide solutions that enhance performance and efficiency. In my Distillation Domain roles with Koch-Glitsch and Sulzer, two major distillation tower internals vendors, I delivered and contributed to Multiple Process and Hydraulic Studies Projects, involving Steady State Simulations with Product Specification Guarantees, Critical Revamps, and proposals for debottlenecking and revamping distillation columns for clients in India and the Middle East. Developed first Sulzer reference for Linear Alkyl Benzene (LABS) Plant-(UOP Licensed) Revamp with critical Product Guarantees and developed first Koch-Glitsch India references for Fuels Type Vacuum Column wash bed revamp and HP amine absorber columns with product guarantees. I collaborate with global project offices and clients to understand and address their specific needs and goals.I am motivated by the impact of my work on the distillation industry. Distillation Technology continues to evolve by virtue of Research and Development in terms of better Contacting Internals and let\'s strive for much better solutions taking into consideration energy intensities and the impact thereof.Does anyone know the very first person in the world who did troubleshooting of a Distillation Column known to the mankind? Do you have the answer? Probably you don\'t have the answer, as you will have to first, find the Distillation Column which developed troubles, the very first time. There is a driving force behind everything including your Tower Troubles. Distillation though, thought of as a Mature Technology, has existed since ages and at the same time, R&D for better understanding and better Distillation Contacting devices continues today, and will continue in future as well. What Happens Inside a Distillation Column, doesn\'t Stay Inside the Distillation Column- It is shown in the forms of many indications whether Process or Hydraulic, provided that the associated instrumentation is functioning well. As rightly described by Tower Doctor-Mr. Kister, the best analogy for Troubleshooting Distillation Columns, is Column being your patient and you being the Doctor.
