ABOUT RANJ SANGRA

Ranj has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer, with more than 15 of those years spent in-house at public companies based in Vancouver. He is currently Associate General Counsel at Ballard Power Systems Inc.(NASDAQ:BLDP)(TSX:BLDP). He served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Pinnacle Renewable Energy (TSX:PL) for 3 years until the company was acquired by the Drax Group (LSE:DRX) in April of 2021. At Pinnacle, Ranj was part of the senior management team and responsible for the company’s legal, compliance, and corporate governance functions. Prior to Pinnacle, Ranj was with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE:RBA)(TSX:RBA) for almost 10 years where he held a number of positions, including Vice President, Legal Affairs. His previous experience also includes serving as Legal Counsel at CHC Helicopter Corporation (NYSE:FLI)(TSX:FLY.A and FLY.B), until it was acquired by a private equity firm, and an Associate at McCarthy Tetrault LLP and Farris LLP. Ranj earned his J.D. from the University of Toronto and holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia. He completed the Leadership in Corporate Counsel Program at Harvard Law School, and he holds the Certified In-House Counsel (CIC.C) designation from the Rotman School of Management. He currently serves as on the boards of the Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers Association and the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association. He recently completed the Not-for-Profit Governance Essentials Program through the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management. Ranj also earned the Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation through the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.
