At ComforTek its all about caring for the caregiver! Once the cognitive skill to \"scoot\" a chair up to the table has been lost due to injury, surgery, illness or aging it now becomes the role of a spouse or caregiver to provide meal time assistance. Unfortunately, the task of providing care surpasses the physical ability of many caregivers. At times caregivers feel more like “hired muscle” than “givers-of-care”!As it relates to providing mealtime assistance, we believe dining chairs fail both seniors and caregivers simply because chairs by design do not move. As a result caregivers are at risk of incurring a personal injury as they do whatever it takes to move a seated person up to the table. In order to reduce the physical demands expected of caregivers, we believe chairs designed for seniors and caregivers need to SWIVEL…TURN…ROLL…and BRAKE for safety, eliminate the need for caregivers to push-pull-shove-twist when offering mealtime assistance. As a result care staff have fewer workplace injuries, experience a better work-life balance and are more engaged with clients and guests!
