About Randy Smith

I expanded the experiences gained growing up in a manufacturing and small business ownership family by receiving a degree in finance and computer science from the University of Arkansas and then sitting for and passing the CPA exam in the state of Arkansas. I then entered the public accounting industry with tremendous training, experience and business with Arthur Andersen & Co as well as Deloitte & Touche as an auditor and later systems consultant.Upon leaving public accounting I opened a consulting firm dedicated to providing business and systems consulting to the formula based manufacturing industries. These industries include paint, chemical, food, beverage, flavorings, adhesives etc.As the dominant software applicaiton leader in the formula based manufacturing began - Batchmaster - began to fade off into history I co-founded a software development company - Vicinity Manufacturing - to address the critical business issues in the formula manufacturing industries for the small to mid-sized manufacturers.I continue my work as a consultant and business owner of a vertically focused consulting firm and provide industry experience, insight and services to the software development of the vertically focused formula manufacturing solution - Vicinity Manufacturing.Specialties: Formula based manufacturing, small business ownership, software devleopment, marketing and sales strategies.
