Work with suppliers in cost savings projects, using such tools as Kaizen, lean manufaturing, six sigma ect. Travel with a team of engineers to Nissan suppliers performing kaizen studies determining cost savings with emphasis on logistics and quality standards. Expertise on logistics engineering and technical VA/VE aspects in a 4 day activity generally producing five or six kaizen items with potential annual savings of on average per supplier. Ensure all distribution system functionality is configured to optimize performance. Analyze contractual commitments, customer specification, design changes and other data to develop design solutions. Perform special research or technical studies critical to logistic support functions. Perform cost/benefit tradeoff analysis and develop ROI business cases for recommended projects involving process, system or technology.Supports the development of Outbound Logistics fiscal year annual budget. Support the establishment of New Model contract cost related to Outbound Logistics activities. Development and Monitoring of technical cost reduction ideas for current and future fiscal years. Analyze network routing and support the optimization of such routing which ensures outbound logistics costs are minimized.
