ABOUT RANDY BUCAO
With over 32 years in the telecom and infrastructure industry, I bring a rare blend of deep technical expertise and seasoned project leadership. My journey spans 21 years in Structured Cabling, where I’ve designed and implemented low-voltage systems for MDUs, commercial buildings, and enterprise environments—including work for major clients like TELUS and AMEX. Paired with nearly a decade of Outside Plant (OSP) experience, I’ve led fiber deployments across rural, suburban, and urban landscapes.Over the past 4 years, I’ve taken on Project Management and Engineering Leadership roles, overseeing large-scale broadband initiatives under UBF and AHSIP, and managing utility relocation efforts such as Rogers Force Relocate. I’ve delivered fiber infrastructure for clients including XPLORE, NFTC, Acronym Solutions, and Bluewater Regional Networks, while coordinating with municipalities, construction teams, and subcontractors both local and overseas. My work integrates Inside Plant (ISP) and OSP design, with a strong foundation in structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA), estimating workflows, and field validation. I’ve served as an Ontario One Call Coordinator, ensuring safe and compliant underground infrastructure builds. I rely on tools like AutoCAD, SpatialNet, Google Earth, ArcGIS, and Monday.com to manage technical drawings, optimize fiber routes, track milestones, and lead cross-functional teams.Whether mapping fiber from Head End to OLT, FDH, and Service Drop—or designing structured cabling pathways from demarcation points to telecom rooms and suites—I bring a hands-on, detail-driven approach backed by decades of experience and a passion for building reliable, future-ready networks.
