About Randy Read
Seems like I have been in the entertainment business my whole life, from mirror balls for ROTC dances in high school to the London Music Festival in 1972. Doing one off shows with The Allman brothers Band, to my first tour with Natalie Cole in 1974 to my claim to fame becoming the LD for the Marshall Tucker Band around 1975. My next big adventure was the 1982 World Fair as the production supervisor for all of the great entertainment that came to the fair. At the end of the fair I entered into the Broadcast business where I learned to light for cameras, for film and video tape. That led to thousands of hours of broadcast lighting experience for a lot of different networks like HGTV, FOOD NETWORK, A&E, Discovery, Nickelodeon, AMC, ABC, NBC, CBS CNN The Nashville Network, The Christian Broadcast Network, ESPN, Churches and the list goes on. From episodic TV, National commercials, movies, Special Events. Took a break from lighting every day to working for ARRI The largest manufacturer of motion picture cameras and broadcast lighting in the world (another claim to fame). I have toured the world, designed the lighting for broadcast studios all over North America and have specified millions of dollars of lighting fixtures world wide. I have built tractor/trailer grip trucks, and built massive power distributions. Which brings me to asking all of you to please consider me for anything that you would need a lighting person for.
