Randy is Broadbent\'s President and Principal Engineer in charge of mining services. He is responsible for technical review, work team assignment, contract negotiation, client and regulatory relations, development of work, and various business and management functions. His mining focus includes active and abandoned mine lands. From 2010 to mid-2014, Randy was responsible for management of the Reno office including technical review, project and client management, staff management, marketing, and financial management. Success in these areas led to significant growth of the Reno office and need to reorganize and divide certain management duties. He designed a structure that will continue Reno’s growth and expansion of services with focus on safety, efficiency, and effective response to client and staff needs. Prior to 2010, Randy held positions at Broadbent including staff and senior staff, project, senior, and associate levels. Randy has vast experience in environmental site assessment, characterization, risk assessment, construction management, safety compliance, and remediation. His experience includes serving as project manager for CERCLA remedial investigation, water treatment, and construction projects and director for a major oil company portfolio of remediation sites. He has developed risk-based policy and guidance adopted by regulatory agencies. He has served as the lead contact for multiple clients, and he regularly leads stakeholder and regulatory agency meetings and negotiations. He is adept at developing relationships necessary for advancing projects, and he has a proven track record of being an advocate for organizations and clients. His experience includes deposition and expert witness testimony.
