ABOUT RANDY J HARMON

After college I landed a very lucrative job in the finance industry, working for a well known fortune 500 company. It was then that I realized my passion for logistics, and made a life changing decision to resign and follow my dreams. After resigning from the finance industry and after careful thought, a decision was made to drive OTR (over-the-raod). I did this for several years, just to be familiar with the challenges of the field for those I\'d someday manage. After a successful run as an OTR driver, I accepted a logistics coordinator position with a 3rd party logistics) company. Working as an OTR driver, and then a coordinator was not only instrumental, but vital to my success. I kept a rearview sight of where I\'d been, and a clear focus of where I was going, I learned the business quickly and excelled. Over the course of 9 months I worked in various departmenst, learning even more. Within 12 months I was offiered a management position. After a few years in the trucking sector, I stepped into the intermodal arena (railroad). Fast forward, and I\'ve seized the opportunity to work for Eleets; A heavy weight in it\'s own field. During my tenure with Eleets, I learned the following: Sales Accessorials Procurement Process Improvement Expedited Systems Carrier Management US Customs Carrier Rates Blanket Rates Negotiations Drayage P&L Multi Site Mgmt Intermodal Onboarding Hiring Ocean LTL & FTL Reefer Units Cross Docking Exporting Supply Chain Management Hazmat D.O.T. regulations, and much more. All of the above was mastered from cradle to grave. After Eleets Transportation was sold, and as time went on, I continued to work in the logistics field, networking, gaining valuable knowlege, and working with some of the best in the industry. A decade later my experienceand has allowed me to secure my Operation Management positions, and has taken me for a ride that has truly been proven to be invaluable and priceless.
