Teach foundational lawyering skills to incoming 1L law students. During fall semester teach twenty-student class how to read judicial opinions, analyze the law, and apply the law to a set of facts. Help students learn how to write objective legal memoranda that junior associates or judicial clerks might be tasked to write and how to communicate with clients. During spring semester teach persuasive writing and advocacy. During this semester, teach students to write a pre-trial motion, prepare a complete appellate brief, and present oral argument.
