Interstate Blood Bank, Inc, is a group of 26 Plasmapheresis centers and growing, 10 whole blood/serum collection centers, a testing laboratory, and a custom manufacturing site. In May 2019, we were 100% acquired by Grifols. We operate in a highly regulated environment. We are licensed and governed by the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), which is the biologics division of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, all plasma locations are certified by the International Quality Plasma Program (iQPP), the German Health Authority (GHA), and by individual states through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act- CLIA. All locations are routinely audited by the FDA, CLIA, Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA), GHA, EMEA, our customers, and other local, state, and federal agencies. Interstate Blood Bank, Inc maintains an extensive list of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which govern all of our quality and manufacturing processes. These processes include the collection of Whole Blood (10 locations) and Source Plasma (26 locations). Testing of each unit for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV occurs in the Laboratory; EIA, ChLIA, and NAT/PCR technology is supported. Other tests performed may include Hepatitis A, Parvo B19, Syphilis, Hepatitis B-Core, and other tests as required by our customers.
