About Randy Brown

I serve in three leadership roles at Barnes & Thornburg LLP: Chairperson of our Litigation Department firm-wide, Managing Partner of our Fort Wayne, Indiana office, and a member of our Management Committee. My primary role, however, remains as an advocate for my clients in the courtroom when necessary and in their dealings with other businesses. The bulk of what I do can be described as business or commercial litigation, including matters relating to patent, trademark and copyright infringement, insurance products, reinsurance, software disputes, trade secrets, unfair competition, shareholder litigation, UCC disputes and class actions. My patent cases include both plaintiff and defense work and have covered a wide variety of technologies, incuding medical devices, robotics, topical creams, electronics, business methods, readers for the visually impaired, electric motors, and gasoline vapor recovery systems.

   I\'ve been asked to take on another role within Firm management and now also lead the largest department within the Firm with close to 200 professionals in all of our offices across the country. In this role, I will help set policy and develop new programs for delivering excellent legal services to our clients, ensure our legal personnel develop as professionals, recruit top talent for all of our offices, and help staff our litigation engagements with experienced trial teams.
