ABOUT RANDY AGUILAR

As a Legislative Assistant and Grants Coordinator at the U.S. House of Representatives, I support Congressman Henry Cuellar in advancing his policy agenda and securing federal funding for his district. I draft and edit written correspondence, talking points, memos, and press releases. I also build and maintain external relationships with various stakeholders, such as federal agencies, local governments, nonprofits, and constituents, and I assist them with grant applications, letters of support, and other requests. I joined the congressman\'s office in July 2022 as a Legislative Correspondent, after completing my internship in his district office in my senior year of college. I graduated from Texas A&M International University in 2022, with a double major in political science and sociology. Before pursuing higher education, I served as an Artillery cannoneer in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, and I deployed twice during my service. My military experience instilled in me the values of leadership, teamwork, and discipline, and inspired me to pursue a career in public service. My goal is to use my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the lives of the people I serve.
