About Randolph Lyde
Dr. Randolph Lyde, M.D, Ph.D, is a Hematology/Oncology Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He graduated from Temple University, earning a BS in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience. After graduating, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, obtaining his Ph.D. in Biomedical Pharmacology. His Ph.D. thesis focused on platelet-derived and delivered therapeutics for Hemophilia A patients under the mentorship of Dr. Mortimer Poncz. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals. Post-graduation he enrolled in medical school at Temple because of their community service and strong ties to local minority communities.Dr. Lyde is committed to and appreciates diversity, volunteering, and mentoring. He has helped co-create pipeline and mentorship programs at local high schools as a medical student. He continues to mentor and help local students achieve their goals. He has also held multiple local, regional, and national leadership positions with the Student National Medical Association. As the co-founder and chair of the student diversity council at Temple Med, he has led the 60-person student group to advocate for unrepresented students in medicine and the local community. He graduated from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He is also a recipient and an inductee of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.Dr. Lyde completed Internal Medicine residency and is currently a Heme-Onc Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Long-term, he is interested in malignant and benign hematology.
