ABOUT RANDI SOLTYSIAK
I came to finance and accounting a little differently than most people, first earning an English degree, then becoming a community organizer, and then earning a law degree before taking a course in accounting, which changed my life. Unlike the law, finance is black and white; there are no vagaries in numbers—when they’re done right. But there are mysteries to unravel sometimes, and I enjoy the challenge of ensuring an organization\'s financial health by finding answers, solving problems, and delivering transparency. I have honed my skills in financial management, reporting, and analysis through hands-on experience. I now manage budgeting, prepare balance sheets, P&L, and cash forecasts, oversee liquid assets, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and payroll, and prepare documentation for annual audits. I also manage disposition of grant funds and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and GAAP. As a leader, I collaborate with staff and teams at every level and take a people-first approach that focuses on listening rather than talking. When I’m not working, I volunteer with several organizations, serving on the board of my local Temple, participating in advocacy campaigns with environmental groups, and coordinating outdoor activities for my son’s Scout troop. In fact, I recently completed a 50-mile backpacking hike at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I’m always open to growing my network. If you’re interested in accounting/finance, environmental causes, or crazy long hikes, feel free to contact me at @.
