ABOUT ROCKY SIMMONS
After a whirlwind of personal and professional adventure, I am finally back where it all began—UMKC. I came to campus in 2009 as a member of the women’s soccer team. In 2013, I left as a Bloch School graduate, bonded with my teammates for life. Today, as Alumni Director for the School of Humanities & Social Sciences and the School of Education, Social Work & Psychological Sciences, I’m back home. After dedicating the better part of a decade to my teams as a collegiate soccer coach, followed by some time in renewable energy, I now get to focus on my fellow alumni! I have the privilege of strengthening alumni connections, building meaningful engagement, and celebrating the achievements of Roo alumni everywhere. Is my job really to be a champion and resource for my fellow alumni? Wow. What a dream.Outside of work, I’m passionate about education, DEI, sustainability, health & wellness, transportation, doggos, and all things sports.
