About Randi Collins
I’m a Cybersecurity Engineer and former ISSM with 10+ years of experience securing mission-critical systems across the DoD, Aerospace, and Intelligence communities. I specialize in translating complex compliance requirements into practical, operational security—keeping systems secure, accredited, and mission-ready. My expertise spans the full cybersecurity lifecycle, from RMF and ATO execution to continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and cloud security in classified environments. I’ve led security efforts for both on-prem and AWS Classified Region infrastructures, managed eMASS packages end-to-end, and guided organizations through evolving frameworks including NIST 800-53 (Rev 4 → Rev 5), CMMC, and DFARS. Core strengths include: RMF, NIST 800-53/171/172, CMMC, STIGs, and DAAPM compliance, ATO lifecycle management, SSP development, and POA & M remediation, ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scanning and risk-based remediation, Cloud security strategy for classified and hybrid environments and Cross-functional leadership within Agile/DevSecOps teams. Before transitioning fully into cybersecurity, I served as a U.S. Army Intelligence Officer, where I led joint-service teams and developed high-level intelligence products—experience that continues to shape my leadership style and risk-informed decision making. Beyond my technical work, I’m passionate about mentorship and community impact. I have served on the Mentor Board for Blacks in Cybersecurity, spoke on leadership and representation in cyber, and supported initiatives that build the next generation of security professionals. I’m driven by mission, accountability, and building security programs that actually work—not just on paper, but in real-world operations.
