About Randi Harris
Higher education leader with 8 years in leadership spanning innovative student success projects, collaborative efforts to strategize and implement initiatives across divisions of the university, and building relationships to support transfer students and transfer partnership programs. I bring 14 years of experience managing people and operations. With over 15 years in public higher education, I’m dedicated to leading collaborative efforts that drive student learning, experience, and success with a specific focus on transfer and returning adult students. I love people and enjoy building relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators which allows me to move strategic initiatives forward. I am able to balance providing empathy to individuals while sense-making in a broader context to inform decisions in complex, ambiguous environments. I have a track record of leading department level change management initiatives.I am an analytically minded leader who informs strategy and problem solving by being curious, growing my knowledge and skills, and collaborating with diverse leaders. I’ve integrated design thinking and human-centered design into all the projects I lead, and used human-centered design to build PSU’s Transfer & Returning Student Resource Center. The focus of my doctoral research was the potential transformative power of service design with students to create a sense of belonging and self-efficacy. Additionally, I’m excited to inform and enact statewide policy through service on the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission’s Transfer Council. I’m ready to grow my impact even more.
