About Randall Nortman

I have more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of industries and at many scales, from constrained 8-bit microcontrollers to highly scalable distributed systems and many things in between. Most recently my experience is in safety-critical software for high performance computing in autonomous vehicles.I\'m comfortable designing and implementing solutions to highly complex problems, developing frameworks and approaches that help to manage that complexity. I bring a systems thinking approach to everything I do, minding both the forest and the trees. I\'m accustomed to developing new systems from scratch as well as incrementally evolving existing systems.• Current expertise in C++(14, 17) and Python (3), dated experience with many other languages• Inventor and implementer of three domain-specific languages, all designed to help manage the complexity of developing real-wold, safety-critical autonomous vehicles.• Safety-critical real-time robotics with high performance computing• Large-scale distributed systems and big data systems• Embedded systems: real-time firmware and hardware development
