ABOUT RANDAL DULL

As Principal Engineer for arc welding at EWI, I am in a position to help manufacturers improve the efficiency and profitability of their products and internal processes through advanced joining technology.My expertise includes gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), submerged arc welding (SAW), and shielded metal arc welding SMAW). My work has involved the joining of carbon steels, coated steels, stainless steels, cast iron, aluminum alloys, titanium and titanium alloys, nickel alloys, copper and copper alloys, and silver, as well as dissimilar combinations of metals. Additional areas include arc welding automation, weld tooling, off-line robotic programming, distortion control, and flame straightening. I have developed and taught training courses on topics such as PAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, welding of nickel alloys, welding of high-strength steels, welding of light metals, robotic arc welding, arc welding optimization, control of distortion, and welding inspection. I have expertise with welding codes and standards including AWS, ASME, API, ISO, NAVSEA, and MIL.Credentials include being a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Ohio for welding engineering, American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) and Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI), and International Institute of Welding (IIW) International Welding Engineer (IWE).
