About Ramya Gurunathan
In my work as a Senior Application Engineer on NVIDIA\'s Edge Supercomputing team, I bridge the physical sciences and data sciences by applying my mixed academic background in materials engineering and scientific computing. I work with research teams worldwide to connect high-bandwidth sensor data directly to high-performance GPU compute in order to power the latest methods in AI-based real-time analysis.Prior to my role at NVIDIA, I served as an AI/ML Research Scientist at Wolfspeed. Here, I collaborated across R&D, Engineering, Quality, Technical Sales, and IT to identify modelling and machine-learning solutions that improve yield, cost, and quality across the materials and device business units. I have also served as a Materials Research Engineer at NIST, where I used deep-learning to rapidly predict material properties and report this new data in public databases. I hold a BS and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State and Northwestern University, respectively. Additionally, I completed an MPhil in Scientific Computing at the University of Cambridge as a recipient of the highly selective Churchill Scholarship.
