About Ramón Pereira Bonilla
Ramon is a senior at Valencia College with a passion for leveraging local politics to meld controlled environment agriculture, affordable housing, and education-Sustainability & Community Work- What began as an internship for LA Compost during his freshmen year at Occidental College, quickly transformed into a love for community-based action to empower working-class folks meet their needs. During his sophomore year, Ramon spearheaded Oxy\'s compost hub which diverted over 2,500 lbs. of food waste per week. This food waste was transformed into nutrient-rich compost which was then donated to nearby community gardens to help build local food resiliency-Business Management Consulting- This entrepreneurial spirit & a desire to build a strong professional skillset led him to business management consulting. In Fall 2020, after countless hours of practice, Ramon was able to land the McKinsey & Co. Sophomore Diversity Leadership Internship at the Boston Office. Here, he worked on a project which optimized a large medical logistics company\'s supply chain and presented his findings directly to the company\'s CFO. After completing a successful summer with the firm, Ramon received a full-time offer for 2024-CEA & Food Security- In Fall 2021, Ramon began studying the field of CEA. After some digging, he discovered GreenForges and became obsessed with their technology and vision. Officially joining the team in Feb of 2022, Ramon has worked as \"Community Manager\" for GreenForges and assists in marketing and other business development efforts-Education- During his first year of undergrad, Ramon also worked as a tutor with Oxys Neighborhood Partnership Program. Here, he further developed his passion for education by working with LAUSD schools in low-income neighborhoods. Ramon took his educational work to the next level at Bridging the Gap, a student-led nonprofit which seeks to provide BIPOC undergrads with the resources and mentorship to thrive in the professional business world. After his time at McKinsey, he leveraged his professional insights to help a number of students land offers at large firms including Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Co-Local Politics & Commercial Real Estate- Today, Ramon is back home in Florida and ready to get to work! He continues to support GreenForges and maintains involvement in BTG. However, he mainly focuses on staying active with local community organizers while learning about the Orange County Real Estate Market. His hope is to launch his own sustainability-based CRE company in the future.
