ABOUT RAMIL MERCADO
I am a recent graduate of American University’s School of International Service, with an M.A. in International Affairs: Comparative and Regional Studies with a concentrations in Southeast Asia and Latin America. I previously received my B.A. in Political Science and Asian Studies with a minor in Southeast Asian Studies at UC Berkeley.I carry experience as a researcher, formed by my time in think tanks such as CSIS and the East-West Center in Washington, as well as someone who understands U.S. foreign policy with my experiences in the Department of State, the House of Representatives, and USTDA. I also come with an internationally-focused background, formed by my experiences abroad in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, and Argentina. I am hoping to take these experiences and apply them to creating foreign policy that benefits both the US and the world.
