Professor and head of Research/Innovation Outreach at Hyderabad. Moved to academics in 2016 after 25 years in Sofwtare Product R&D space in India & US. Headed India Labs for Progress Software, and prior to that was Head of Engineering at Pramati Technologies. Very active in the industry,academia & startup space. President of Hysea 2014, member fo Nasscom regional council and also the States Chief Innovation Officer (interim)-After 25 years in the product R&D space, moved to Hyderabad as faculty in 2016. Leading the Research/Innovation outreach at Hyderabad. Actively driving research translation and startup initiatives. Also Visiting faculty at IIT Hyderabad (Innovation), and a member of governing board of incubators at IIT Hyd, and BITS. Prior to academics worked in the tech industry in bay area and in Hyderabad, as product R&D leader. Active in industry bodies (President of Hysea 2014) and also the Interim Chief Innovation Officer of Telangana state.After 25 years in the product R&D space, moved to Hyderabad as faculty in 2016. Helped start and grow the Technology Transfer Office, Co-Innovation (corp) labs, and the Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Association with started in 2002 as Adjunct faculty. Also, was visiting faculty at IIT Hyderabad (Innovation), and a member of governing board of incubators at IIT Hyd, and BITS.Prior to academics worked in the tech industry bay area and since in Hyderabad, as product R&D leader. Most recently was the India Head for Progress Software. Prior to Progress, was VP of Middleware Technologies at Pramati, and also headed Product Engineering.Was the Interim Chief Innovation Officer of Telangana state in 2017 and One of the Founders of Headstart Network (StartupSaturday). Also Chaired ACM Hyderabad Chapter 2012-14. Active in industry organizations. most recently was President of HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Industry Association) and Regional council member at Nasscom. Also on several committees and panels of state and central government including Meity (Gov of INdia) panel on innovation, BIRAC ACE fund of funds committee and state Blockhain District.An accomplished Technologist, with over 20 years product engineering and R&D leadership experience. Regularly speak at tech workshops and seminars in India. Earllier,co-authored a book on ‘SOA approach to Integration’, published by Packt Publishers. Member of several Standards Expert groups including J2EE 1.3. Active in Product/Startup circles.
