Setup and implemented CDC data pipeline with Apache Kafka Connect, Debezium MYSQL connectors to stream real-time data between MYSQL database and timescale DB which enabled to perform time-series aggregation much quicker and provide real time insight into modem status. Redesign and implemented a legacy data intensive single threaded sequential application to a scalable, parallel and concurrently processing app with the help of Spring Batch and Kafka which resulted in reducing the time taken by data ingestion process from more than 10 hours to less than a hour. Debugged and resolved issues with mismatch of data shown in UI and what is present in database by implementing correct ways of updating and clearing out caches which helped the team to detect any anomalies within the application faster.
