About Ramesh Panchagnula

With over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, I am a seasoned leader and expert in drug discovery and development, formulation and delivery, and biopharmaceuticals. As the Managing Director of Nektar Therapeutics India, I am responsible for aligning the subsidiary\'s operations with the global objectives and supporting Nektar\'s business interests. I have successfully led and coordinated various stakeholder functions to deliver products to market, managed the subsidiary\'s P&L, explored opportunities for growth through in/out-licensing alliances, and provided direction and leadership for hub operations in a matrix environment. I have also demonstrated technical and management skills in initiating, executing, and completing infrastructure projects, planning and developing new initiatives, and managing financial and budget aspects. My specialties include pharmaceutics, drug delivery, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, analytical method development and validation, and stability studies. My mission is to leverage my expertise and experience to contribute to Nektar\'s vision of developing innovative therapies that address unmet medical needs.

   Responsible for leading and managing the Nektar India in alignment with global objectives to support Nektar’s business interests. Responsible for India Organization as an integrated organization within the Research (PK, PD, Tox and Vivarium) and Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing divisions, along with support functions of Operations, Administration, QA, EHS, IT, Supply Chain, Project Management, Business Operations and HR. • Responsible Nektar India Research and Development Operations and manage the subsidiary’s P&L. • Explore opportunities in the external environment to drive growth through in/out licensing alliances and other business opportunities in line with company’s regional & Global Strategy. • Guides personnel in stage appropriate pharmaceutical development in pursuit of product registrations works with the Nektar Supply Chain to identify and assess appropriate CMOs • Prepares and implements strategic and operational plans to ensure that the appropriate facilities, systems and procedures are in place to achieve global research and development goals within the schedule, product quality and cost requirements established for the India Organization. • Establishes annual operating budget for the Hyderabad site. Plans, directs, controls and monitors site related activities to accomplish budgeted financial objectives and executes the company business plan on time and within budget. • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant government laws and regulations and for obtaining/ updating all required licenses and permits for performance of required activities Identifies educational needs in collaboration with US functional heads and executes training to enhance the skills of site staff to improve overall site performance.
