I am the senior leader overseeing all Graduate Medical Education programs at Los Robles Health System. We have residencies in internal medicine, general surgery, emergency medicine, anesthesiology, neurology, transitional year, and fellowships in general cardiology and vascular neurology. I am chairman of the graduate medical education committee and work closely with all program directors on curriculum design, faculty development, and ensuring compliance with all ACGME regulations. My goals as DIO in 2026 are to promote clinical excellence in the GME, align with our hospital’s quality construct, and improve the working relationship between our residents with nursing staff. I continue to practice infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings, work directly with trainees on their ID rotation, provide research mentorship and deliver didactic lectures.

I am an infectious diseases physician, in private practice, and affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants (MIDC)-the nation’s largest infectious disease group. I have 20 years of practice experience, since completing my internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship, and I have served as a Chief of the Medical Staff. In July 2025, I assumed the role of Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for all graduate medical education programs at Los Robles Health SystemFrom July 2023 to November 2025, I was the inaugural Program Director for the Transitional Year residency program. I continue to serve as the Infectious Diseases Subspecialty Lead faculty for the Internal Medicine GME program, focusing on clinical teaching and research mentorship. I am also currently acting as a Medical Director (at a medium sized as well as rural, critical access hospitals via telemedicine). I have expertise in designing and implementing care transformation programs, leading high reliability teams, and highlighting the role of telemedicine in infectious diseases and Antimicrobial stewardship. I have been involved in developing policy and procedures for Antimicrobial stewardship and COVID-19 management. This has been deployed to all 22 hospitals in the market. My current interests in infectious diseases center around developing novel approaches to reducing healthcare associated conditions, addressing variation in healthcare delivery, formulation of diagnostic stewardship pathways, and medical education. I was also a site principal investigator for BLAZE-1, ACTIV-2, and ACTIV - 4 clinical trials for COVID.
