About Ramesh Govindarajan
I was trained to design machines that move through the sky.Now, I build stories that stay with people long after the screen fades to black.I’m 28, an Associate Member of the Screenwriters Association of India (SWA), and a writer-director shaped more by instinct than convention. Aerospace Engineering gave me structure; cinema gave me purpose—and I chose the latter without hesitation.I’ve written and directed multiple short films, with HUHUM picking up nominations at SIIMA Awards 2020 and Rolling Reels 2020. Those weren’t just projects—they were my proving ground, where I learned how to turn ideas into something that breathes.I went on to pursue a Diploma in Film Direction, and stepped into the industry through writing—working on shows at Sun Network, developing pilots, and even doing subtitling work that sharpened my ear for dialogue and rhythm. Every format taught me something different. Every room, a new way to see story.Most recently, I wrote and directed a 1-hour original, “Chennaiyil Vaanam Megamootathudan Kaanapadum” (The Sky Appears Cloudy in Chennai), now streaming on Aha Tamil as part of their Originals slate. Built with a crew across all 24 crafts, and shot by Manikandan S (associate of George Williams), the film leans into atmosphere, human tension, and quiet intensity.Right now, I’m developing multiple projects across formats—feature films, web series, and originals—with pitch decks ready and stories that are looking for the right collaborators.I’m always open to conversations that lead somewhere interesting.Stories, after all, don’t move forward alone.
