About Ramesh Das
I’m a passionate chemist specializing in organic synthesis with a keen interest in photo and electroorganic synthesis chemistry. During my Master’s at IIT Ropar, I conducted research in the AG Research Group under the guidance of Dr. Avijit Goswami, focusing on the functionalization of Donor-Acceptor Cyclopropane (DAC), Oxindole, and Thio-Oxindole scaffolds. This work involved the development of novel methodologies under both metal-catalyzed and metal-free conditions. From May 2026 to Feb 2026, I worked as a Project Associate-I in the KMR Research Group at CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, under the supervision of Dr. M. Rao Kuram, where my research focused on medicinal chemistry, particularly inhibitor design and development. This role has further strengthened my expertise in advanced organic synthesis techniques and the characterization of complex molecules. From Feb 2026, I am working as a Project JRF fellow in the DS Research Group (https://dslab.iiti.ac.in/) under the Supervision of Prof. Debayan Sarkar at IIT-Indore in the Indo-Norway Project. Here, my aim is the development of asymmetric synthetic methodology using a photo catalyst and electricity. This role is again helping me to strengthen my expertise in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. My dream is to work under a Nobelist, where I can transform myself from an ordinary person into someone extraordinary. Passionate about research, I aspire to innovate in organic synthesis and, through this mentorship, unlock new possibilities that inspire future chemists.
