ABOUT RAMATOULAYE TALL
Ramatoulaye Tall: a Guinean-American studying Public Health at Brown University, currently based in New York City. Having lived in Senegal for three years during my formative years, I developed a deep personal connection to global health disparities and social justice issues. This experience shaped my commitment to pursuing research and policy that address inequities in healthcare access and outcomes—especially for marginalized and underrepresented communities. At Brown, I am dedicated to combining rigorous academic study with hands-on research and community engagement. I am passionate about using data-driven approaches to identify systemic barriers and advocate for equitable health solutions.My academic journey is complemented by meaningful roles on campus and beyond. My roles on multiple e-boards and administrative positions has allowed me to provide organizational support for programs centered on race, history, and social justice while deepening my understanding of systemic oppression and resilience. I am also deeply passionate about celebrating and uplifting Black excellence and underrepresented voices, and I enjoy curating memories through Pinterest and scrapbooking, which allow me to creatively preserve stories that often go unnoticed but are vital to community identity.Beyond campus, I have volunteered extensively. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of community organizing and advocacy as tools for social change. Being fluent in Fulani and proficient in French, I bring a multicultural perspective that enhances my ability to engage with diverse populations and understand global health issues through a nuanced lens.I am organized, driven, and eager to use my interdisciplinary education and experiences to make a meaningful impact. My goal is to conduct research and contribute to policies that dismantle barriers to health equity and improve outcomes for communities like those I come from. Ultimately, I want to give back in ways that are thoughtful, effective, and grounded in respect.
