About Ramata Sissoko Cisse
Professor | Scientist | Multilingual EducatorI am Dr. Ramata Sissoko Cisse, a university professor at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Poultry Science in Metro Atlanta. My academic work integrates teaching excellence, applied research, and community-engaged service, with research interests in Agribusiness and Waste Management.I hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) earned through veterinary training programs in Kazakhstan, a Master’s degree in Biology from Georgia State University, and a PhD from the University of Georgia. My teaching philosophy emphasizes conceptual understanding, experiential learning, and student success, particularly for students preparing for careers in health sciences, agriculture, and applied biology. At GGC, I also manage the campus microfarm. In this hands-on learning environment, students connect classroom concepts to real-world applications in food production, sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental stewardship. The microfarm is intentionally integrated into my course materials, allowing students to apply biological principles, agribusiness concepts, and systems thinking in a tangible setting. In addition to my U.S-based academic work, I am actively involved in environmental and sustainability projects in Mali, focusing on waste management, food systems, and community education. These international projects inform my teaching and research by linking local classroom learning to global challenges.I am committed to inclusive, culturally responsive education and communicate in English, French, Bambara, and Sonrhai. I welcome collaboration with colleagues and institutions interested in biology education, applied agriculture, sustainability, experiential learning, and global partnerships.Love Dron.
