ABOUT RAMASAMY VENKATACHALAM

I am a Chartered Accountant with experience across EY, BCT, and Freshworks, working at the intersection of financial reporting, strategic finance, and tech. My focus has been on helping organizations build scalable finance functions, improve financial clarity, and enable leadership teams to make better strategic decisions.At EY (FAAS), I advised clients on complex accounting and reporting matters across IFRS, US GAAP, and Ind AS. I worked on strengthening financial reporting frameworks and contributed to the design and implementation of accounting systems from a finance and control standpoint. This experience gave me strong technical depth and a systems-level understanding of how finance integrates with business and technology.I then worked closely with the CFO’s office at BCT, where I owned consolidated MIS, management reporting, and investor relationship and management. I partnered directly with leadership to improve business and financial metrics, reporting quality, automate manual processes, and provide financial visibility that supported strategic and operational decisions.At Freshworks, I was part of the financial reporting team of a publicly listed SaaS company, where I handled stock-based compensation and played a key role in monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles. I worked on executive and board-level reporting, preparing CXO decks with variance analysis, performance insights, and financial narratives that supported leadership decision-making.Through these experiences, I have learned to marry finance, tech and operations and I have developed the ability to operate close to leadership, translate financial data into strategic insight, and build finance processes that scale with growth. I am particularly interested in working with high-growth and deep tech companies, where finance plays a central role in enabling scale, supporting fundraising, and building durable, efficient organizations. I belive finance is not just about numbers but about the story the numbers tell.My long-term goal is to partner with founders and leadership teams to build financially strong, scalable companies from early growth to maturity.
