About Ramakrishna Murthy K
I’m a teacher, researcher, product designer and a life long learner with a passion for developing special purpose machines and advanced testing equipment. Over the years, I’ve guided student teams in turning academic concepts into practical innovations, many of which are showcased through the projects listed belowIoT-enabled IPT and rotating wheel test setups for HV insulator testingSILAR and DIP coating machines, laboratory stirrersThermocyclers for dental material researchContact angle goniometersIoT-enabled accelerated weathering chambersEnvironmental chambers for lithium-ion battery testingSmart solar-powered inverters for micro and small enterprisesTest rigs for lithium-ion battery SoH estimationCapacitive energy harvesting systems from ambient stray electric fieldsand many more.Building on the academic projects I’ve guided with my students, I have now brought together a team skilled in embedded systems, PCB design, HVAC, control systems, and product design to address industry-relevant challenges. With this team, we are developing an Inclined Plane Test Setup for an insulator manufacturer and an SPM for a suture industry.In addition, I serve as Executive Committee Member (Special Invitee) and Lead – Skilling and Training Initiatives at CLIK (Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka), where I design and drive skilling, vocational training, and capacity-building programs for MSMEs. In this honorary role, I work with industry, academia, and government to strengthen the MSME ecosystem through initiatives in electronics manufacturing, exports, ZED/LEAN, and advanced technology adoption. I am also involved in initiatives that bridge the gap between academic potential and industry needs, helping emerging engineers apply their skills in meaningful, real-world contexts. Currently pursuing an Executive MBA at IIT Patna, I remain committed to building bridges between education, research, and real-world industrial impact.Open to collaboration, conversations, and co-creation in the areas of innovation, education, and applied research.
