About Tyagi

Technology leader with 25+ years across financial services and public sector, focused on building practical AI, data platforms, and modern digital infrastructure.I grew up in rural India without much access to technology. What I had was curiosity, and a deep conviction that the right platforms and systems, built thoughtfully, could change how organizations and communities operate. That belief has stayed with me across very different environments: investment banks, hedge funds, asset managers, consulting firms, and now government. The context changes. The responsibility doesn\'t — building technology that actually solves problems.I try to lead technology the way I would want to be led: with room to experiment, permission to fail, and an expectation that we learn quickly and move forward. My teams don\'t wait for certainty. We collaborate, hold ourselves to standards we could defend publicly, and stay focused on what the technology is ultimately meant to serve.Over the years that approach has produced outcomes I\'m proud of.$7M in cost savings in under ten months. A 65% reduction in production support overhead. More recently, our data modernization work helped Aurora\'s Open Data Portal become an IDC Smart Cities Awards finalist, and we established one of the earlier local government GPT environments alongside an AI governance framework. My career spans some of the most demanding environments in financial services: Citadel, Credit Suisse, UBS, Fannie Mae, RBC, and Harris Associates. Along the way I built regulatory reporting platforms and reconciliation frameworks adopted across multiple institutions, from OTC derivatives infrastructure at DTCC to counterparty reconciliation for major custodian banks. That discipline now shapes how I lead Aurora\'s $17.2M digital transformation across AI, cybersecurity, fiber, and workforce development. The part of this work that matters most to me personally is what happens outside the office. I grew up without libraries. Through LibraryCreate, I help build physical libraries in India for children with the same curiosity I had, and not yet the same opportunities. I don\'t think of that as separate from my professional life. I think of it as the whole point.I serve on the board of OnLight Aurora, help organize the Think AI conference, and am a Forbes Technology Council member. I run marathons, which has taught me that most obstacles are mental and that consistency matters more than speed. If you\'re building something meaningful with data or AI, in the public or private sector, I\'d enjoy the conversation.
