About Ralph Cox

I was a member of the 1979 USA National Team for the World Cup Championship and the 1980 USA Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team. I’ve become a case study in the book, “Win At Losing: How Our Biggest Setbacks Can Lead To Our Greatest Gains,” by Sam Weinman.I was the last player cut from the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team, but this was not the final chapter of my life! Instead, it was a hidden blessing of sorts. Courage to fail is a magical opportunity to create success and happiness.I applied lessons learned from my hockey career to pursue opportunities in commercial real estate. As a founding member and Principal of Redgate, I’m a managing member of the Investment Committee, helping to steer its strategic direction. At Redgate, we are passionate about creating great places to live and work that energize growth, inspire collaboration, and cultivate authentic communities. I lead Redgate’s North Carolina operations and also oversee projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Boston markets.Past and Current Development projects:• North Carolina Railroad | Raleigh, NC: Principle in charge of master planning and entitling a square-foot mixed-use project in downtown Raleigh, NC. • University of Maryland and City of College Park | College Park, MD: Strategic Advisor to the University of Maryland and the City of College Park’s Public-Private Joint Venture to plan to redevelop a SF portion of their downtown area. Continuing as a preferred real estate advisor to the University of Maryland for the next 5 years.• Sagamore Development | Baltimore, MD: Senior Advisor to Sagamore Development in redeveloping a 300-acre former maritime industrial property. The site is planned for 12 MSF of retail, housing, and office space and 3 MSF for a corporate campus. My clients, colleagues, and friends describe me as passionate about work, extraordinarily reliable, who not only shows up with a positive attitude but exudes kindness. When you need advice for your next complex real estate project, such as a campus/university system or transit-oriented development, please email me at R••••••••@redgate-re.com.
