In my professional life, I am a board certified orthopedic surgeon with a certificate of added qualifications in hand surgery. Throughout my career, I have embraced a variety of physician leadership roles both within my group practice and the larger enterprise healthcare system. Increasingly, I am passionate about identifying and implementing innovative and disruptive ways to make healthcare more accessible and cost effective. I recently completed a Masters of Healthcare Administration program at the University of Minnesota. I am hoping to use these newly acquired skills and tools in my role as facility CMO to assist providers deliver greater value-based care.

   I am currently the Chief Medical Officer for Multicare Tacoma General and Allenmore Hospitals. Tacoma General Hospital is a licensed 437 bed facilty and is a Level II Trauma Center. In addition, it supports a Level IV NICU, a 21 bed Med-Surg ICU, a 25 bed Cardiac Care Unit, and a 10 bed Neuro ICU. The facility houses 16 main operating rooms, 5 cardiac operating rooms and 5 interventional cath labs, including 2 EP labs and 1 hybrid OR. Tacoma General is a certified trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center and has centers of excellence in cardiology, cancer care, womens health and neurosciences. Finally, the Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital is part of the medical campus with 82 licensed beds, a PICU and a level II pediatric trauma center.Allenmore Hospital is a 70 bed community hospital with a 24/7 ED and a med-surg ICU. Patients can receive state of the art care in many surgical specialties, including orthopedics, spine surgery, ENT, urology, and robotic surgery.As the facility CMO for both hospitals, I help drive the quality and regulatory compliance agenda as well as risk management along with oversight of medical staff governance, which includes medical staff credentialing and peer review activities.
