My previous roles during 2018 to 2020 included working on proprietary retrieval robots, peripherals and machinery for Ocado Engineering, plus technical support in the OSP Customer Fulfilment Centres in the UK, Europe, North America Japan, and Australia. At Ocado I have been using my years of experience in Robotics and Automation to identify issues, find route causes, and design fixes with the PCI and PE teams. I was leading a Bot Reliability Team to update the fault finding processes, improve the OSP MTBF, MTTF and FTFR on the early generation of retrieval bots. Since July 2020 I have been helping our designers to Design for Reliability by guiding them through CFMEA & DFMEAs on the new generation bots in a dedicated reliability team at our development centre. This also involves working closely with our Verification and Simulation teams to help design ALT rigs, also defining stress tests in our in house EC and vibration facilities. I am still heavily involved in fault tree development, I am also driving our Condition Monitoring initiatives with our ML and AI teams. I strongly believe in closing the loop by feeding back any real site failures we detect, into deep dive RCAs, as safety and reliability are always our highest concerns.
